Best Business Schools Hiring:
Health Care Industry
Interest continues to rise in health-care jobs and careers among MBAs, and for good reason. The development and growth of the industry means more roles that are heavy on management and strategy, and increasing goals around efficiency. Also, recent graduates who have focused on and are comfortable with data analytics will find ample opportunity to apply their skills. The growth has been supported by new health-care-focused programs at many business schools. In the spring, accrediting body AACSB reported that “in 2018, just 7 percent of prospective business students were interested in a career in healthcare. By 2023, that figure had reached 15 percent worldwide.” This year, 615 MBAs from all schools in our rankings reported working in the health-care industry.
Health care ranks 13th for pay among 26 industries reported in survey data used for our Business School ROI calculator, with median compensation (salary plus bonus) of $145,986, or 14% less than the median for all fields.
