Energy Industry
From traditional energy companies to renewables and clean tech, MBAs working in the industry have fared well, because their skills and leadership training are in high demand. They are sought after to help navigate the technological, financial and regulatory shifts underway at many of these companies, including oil and gas giants like Chevron and ExxonMobil and renewable energy developers like East Point Energy. These companies offer roles in strategy, finance, business development and general management to MBA graduates across traditional and renewable energy sectors. The number of 2025 graduates accepting positions within the industry has held steady over 2024—327 of those graduates from 79 schools.
Energy is the eighth best paid among 26 industries reported in survey data used for our Business School ROI calculator, with median compensation (salary plus bonus) of $156,334, or 8% less than the median for all fields.
