The Hyundai Kona Electric, along with its corporate cousin the Kia Niro, is part of the carmaker's effort to compete with Tesla on range. The Kona is a subcompact SUV with an exterior almost identical to its internal-combustion counterpart. Though popular, the model's future hinges on whether Hyundai moves toward putting all of its EV models under the Ioniq brand.
