Hyundai introduced the Ioniq nameplate in 2016 with a vanilla hatchback. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 reboots it as a compact SUV with greater range (up to 303 miles), faster charging (from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes) and a higher price tag (starting at $39,950). It’s built on a modular platform that the Korean automaker plans to use for more EV models to come.
