Wisconsin Election Results Will Test Democrats’ Enthusiasm Edge

The Wisconsin State Supreme Court election hasn’t attracted much attention. But Tuesday’s vote may still send an important signal about an intensity advantage that’s building for Democrats in the midterm elections.

The Wisconsin vote appears likely to add to the evidence that Democratic voters are more engaged than Republicans. This engagement gap partly reflects the long-standing pattern that the party out of the White House is more energized than the president’s party in off-year elections.
