Argentina brims with clashing superlatives.
In the past half-century, it has endured one of the world’s most turbulent economies even as its national football team became the most successful in the World Cup. Its politics are fiercely divisive and prone to dramatic swings, even as friendship and family remain deeply rooted social anchors. The country has produced global icons, from Lionel Messi to Pope Francis, yet Argentines themselves are often perceived as arrogant and, yes, insufferably opinionated.
