Takaichi Will Walk a Diplomatic Tightrope in Washington

When Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi last met Donald Trump, the US president was in a generous mood.
“Anytime you have any question, any doubt, anything you want, any favors you need, anything I can do to help Japan,” Trump said during his visit to Tokyo in October, “we will be there.”
