Canadian pilots are flying water-bombing planes, known as Super Scoopers, to help fight wildfires in Los Angeles County, as part of an elite group of international firefighters who provide reinforcement from the sky. But climate change is disrupting the traditional pattern of wildfires, making them more intense and frequent, and forcing governments to reevaluate their commitments to international firefighting agreements and invest in their own defenses.
