Up in the Air, as Seen From Down Below

If you’re not gazing up at Asia’s biggest aviation show this week, look down at your screen to get an insider’s perspective.

At this year’s Singapore Airshow, planemakers from across the globe are showing off their latest and greatest aircraft. Luxury business jets showcase everything from adjustable desks on board, to the latest inflight entertainment systems, to abundant sunlight thanks to bigger windows. The idea is to convince business travelers how they can work, dine and sleep comfortably on an 11-hour trip from Tokyo to New York.

Asia Pacific is likely to have 3.5 billion airline passengers by 2036, adding up to more than double the forecast for North America and Europe combined, according to estimates by the International Air Transport Association.  The Singapore Airshow, Asia’s biggest,  features the most current aviation technology that will attempt to keep up with that demand, and showcases an array of  the latest military fighter jets and helicopters.
