Inside a Massive ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Grand Prix Tournament

Hasbro’s Magic: The Gathering, isn’t just the most popular trading card game ever. It’s a mass movement of players—planeswalkers in Magic-speak—battling it out with the help of spells, creatures, and other powers printed on cards at dozens of competitions around the world. At a Grand Prix meet in Washington in mid-March, more than 4,000 participants gathered to play in teams of wizards.
