Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz “completely open” for the remainder of a ceasefire, in what’s seen as a breakthrough toward a potentially lasting peace in the war with the US and Israel.

The announcement today from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi came after US President Donald Trump confirmed yesterday a 10-day truce between Israel and Hezbollah Lebanon, which had been a key sticking point in peace talks. Trump said Iran was also removing sea mines from the strait, which couldn’t be immediately verified.
