With the ceasefire in the Middle East appearing to hold, confidence is creeping back into financial markets.

US stocks have climbed for seven successive days, the longest winning run since October. Asian equities are wrapping up their first weekly gain since the war began, while, even more impressively, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index is on course for its biggest rally since mid-2020. Every major currency apart from the Indonesian rupiah and Turkish lira is up on the week versus the dollar.
