There are two Bloomberg pieces today that illustrate one of the trickiest dynamics in the UK right now - a fantastic piece of analysis by Irina Anghel on the crisis hitting young people’s job prospects in London, while Parmy Olson looks at growing excitement around AI in London.
With any other industry there would be hopes it would drive mass employment but at the moment the numbers employed in this new sector remain relatively low. It still seems unlikely - though this is a watching brief - that London becoming an AI hub will create broad-based employment in the way that being a professional services centre does.
