White House Ballroom Plan Greenlit By Panel of Trump Appointees

The chairman for the US Commission of Fine Arts suggested White House ballroom architect Shalom Baranes change the existing columns on the North Portico of the White House mansion from Ionic to Corinthian to match the design of the future ballroom.

US President Donald Trump may not have gotten his way at the Supreme Court today, but he scored another win this week: On Thursday, plans for his White House ballroom received unanimous approval from the Commission of Fine Arts following just one hearing with no opportunity for outside input.
