Toward the end of last year, my colleague Rafaela Lindeberg and I were granted a rare interview with Peter “Poker” Wallenberg Jr. at the headquarters of his family’s $39.8 billion business empire in central Stockholm. Inside, portraits of ancestors adorned the walls, reminding visitors that this wealth had been built on the work of previous generations. We were there to talk about what Sweden’s most influential business dynasty might look like as Poker, along with his brother Jacob and cousin Marcus, begin the process of handing control to the sixth generation.
