I believe the F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance is the watch of the century, and I’m happy to make my case in detail. That said, I’m in the minority, at least for now. Paul Boutros, the head of watches in the Americas at Phillips Auctioneers, agrees with me, but other watch nerds, including Hodinkee founder Ben Clymer and Pursuits’ very own Chris Rovzar, looked at me quizzically when I presented my thesis. Even most of the F.P. Journe collectors I talked to weren’t convinced.
