The worlds of diplomacy and politics and punditry were all aflutter this week after the US went into Venezuela to capture President Nicolás Maduro and take him to New York for trial. But as former Council on Foreign Relations head Richard Haass says, when it comes to markets “it’s the dog that didn’t bark in the night.” That doesn’t mean, however, that it necessarily ends there. Haass sees potential ramifications for Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, and even Canada down the road.
