Earlier in the fall, I sat down to talk with Benoît Mintiens, the founder and designer of Ressence watches out of Antwerp, Belgium. Ressence is one of those thoroughly modern independent brands that you either love or you hate. Its designs are so distinctive, it’s almost as if Mintiens started designing from an entirely different planet from other watchmakers.
