Opposition leader María Corina Machado confirmed she was en route to Oslo to collect the Nobel Peace Prize, thanking the committee on behalf of the Venezuelan people.
In a voice message posted online, she described the award as a tribute to Venezuela’s struggle for democracy and noted the risks taken to ensure her safe travel. Her journey was delayed for several hours due to bad weather and rough seas, we’re told.
