Russia’s attacks on Ukraine this week drew condemnation from the West and brought terror for Ukraine’s citizens. In markets, it’s forced a reckoning with geopolitics — something of a minefield for investors as it’s too tough to predict, and therefore to price. (This is what we’re hearing.) The conventional strategy is to hunker down with volatility and a stash of high-quality assets, notably government bonds.
