Less than a month ago, Hong Kong was one of the few places on Earth that was largely Covid free. Hospitals had room, anyone suspected to be at risk of exposure was swiftly shipped to quarantine camp, and the government gave excruciating detail about each local case because there were so few. The biggest threats were inbound travelers and at one point — hamsters.
