Incoming Hungary PM, Von der Leyen to Discuss Funds on Wednesday

Hungary’s incoming Prime Minister Peter Magyar will visit Brussels on Wednesday for talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on resuming flows of EU funding, he posted on social media.

Since defeating Viktor Orban in a landslide victory on April 12, Magyar has staked much of his economic program on regaining access to billions in EU funds that were frozen over concerns that Hungary was violating rule-of-law standards under his predecessor.
