UK to Ask Departments for More Savings, Touts ‘Big Win’ From AI

The UK government will ask departments to go even further on finding savings and get a “big win” from automating swathes of the public sector, according to Treasury minister James Murray.

Speaking at an Institute for Government event on Monday, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury said he is already discussing with officials how to step up their efficiency drive ahead of the next spending review in 2027.
