Stocks surged Friday, sending the Nasdaq 100 Index to its longest winning streak since 2013, as Iran reopened the vital Strait of Hormuz and President Donald Trump said a deal to end the seven-week war could be finalized soon.

The S&P 500 closed 1.2% higher, extending a five-day advance that’s pushed it back over January’s record high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 hit its own record by climbing 1.3% in its 13th straight daily gain.
