Bank of England Expected to Hold Rates This Year, Bloomberg Poll Shows
Bank of England officials are expected to hold interest rates throughout 2026, a Bloomberg survey of economists showed, despite rising inflation as a result of the energy shock from the Iran war.
The poll lifted inflation forecasts for every quarter of 2026, peaking at 3.3% in the second half. Still, it showed interest rates likely remaining at 3.75% until the first quarter of 2027, with two quarter-point cuts expected later that year.
