The largest party in Romania’s ruling coalition is poised to withdraw support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan next week and demand his resignation, according to people familiar with the discussions, a move that would pitch the country into political crisis.

Internal talks indicate that most members of the Social Democratic party will back Bolojan’s ouster in a party vote on April 20, according to the people, who requested anonymity. They said the party wants to maintain the governing alliance but with another premier.
