Barry Callebaut Drops Most in a Year on Profit Outlook Cut
Swiss chocolate maker Barry Callebaut AG cut its outlook and said profit will decline this year, a fresh warning that highlights the challenges facing recently appointed Chief Executive Officer Hein Schumacher.
The Zurich-based company had previously forecast an increase in earnings, and pointed to a sharp drop in cocoa prices for the change in guidance. It’s long struggled with how to deal with volatile swings in the commodity.
