UK Car Industry Seeks Changes to EU’s ‘Made in Europe’ Agenda

The European Union should urgently adjust a proposed law that will discriminate against British automobile manufacturers and undermine €80 billion ($94 billion) of annual trade, according to a trade group.

The EU’s Industrial Accelerator Act, dubbed “Made in Europe,”Bloomberg Terminal aims to support key domestic industries in the face of heightened global competition. The act, currently being negotiated within the EU, contains provisions that would free up crucial subsidies only for cars manufactured in the bloc’s economic area.
