Turkey Demands Decisive Climate Action Ahead of New Global Talks
Turkey urged nations to commit to new action to tackle climate change as it confirmed details of talks scheduled in the Pacific region ahead of a formal United Nations summit.
“The world is entering a decisive period for the future of climate action,” Turkey’s Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum said in a first public letter outlining plans for the COP31 meeting, to be hosted in the resort city of Antalya Nov. 9-20. “The need for multilateral cooperation is greater than ever. This demands concrete and resolute steps in response.”
