The European Central Bank should keep the option of an interest-rate increase at its next meeting alive as it collects information about the damage to inflation and growth from the Iran war, Governing Council member Joachim Nagel said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the IMF’s spring meetings in Washington, the Bundesbank chief said it’s too early to tell if policymakers will follow through with a hike on April 30 because the situation around the conflict is “very opaque.”
