Marcos Names Ex-Philippine Military Head as Security Adviser

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former military chief Eduardo Oban Jr. as the new national security adviser, replacing Eduardo Año who has retired due to health reasons.

Marcos has accepted the resignation of Año, who has decided to retire from public service after decades in the government and military, which he once led, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a briefing on Wednesday.
