Lawmakers Hammer Pentagon Official Over Army Chief’s Dismissal

Representative Austin Scott, a Georgia Republican, decried the decision, saying George and his wife Patty, also a military veteran, had served the nation for nearly 40 years. He said George’s ouster could have a “chilling effect” on officers’ ability to provide honest feedback to civilian leadership.
