Americans’ Views of China Improve Ahead of Trump-Xi Summit

More than one-quarter of Americans hold positive views of China, nearly double the proportion from a record-low three years ago, according to a new survey released by the Pew Research Center.

About 27% of Americans had a favorable view of China, according to the survey conducted in March, up six percentage points since last year and nearly double from a low in 2023 when an alleged Chinese spy balloon incident compounded deteriorating ties from a trade war and the Covid pandemic.
