Virgin Atlantic Says Jet-Fuel Uncertainty to Build in Six Weeks

Virgin Atlantic Airways’s new chief executive officer said he can see about six weeks of secure jet-fuel supplies before the outlook get murkier, as the fallout from the war in Iran continues to roil the airline industry by restricting access to oil.

The UK-based carrier has good near-term visibility and is talking with governments and its base London Heathrow Airport to make sure there is enough fuel supply, Corneel Koster, who took over in January, said on Monday. Virgin Atlantic has hedged close to 60% of its fuel, he added.
