US Wholesale Prices Rise Less Than Forecast Despite Energy

US wholesale prices rose by less than expected in March, despite a surge in energy costs tied to the Iran war.

The producer price index rose 0.5% after a revised 0.5% increase in February, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data out Tuesday. An underlying gauge that excludes food and energy rose just 0.1%.
