ECB Wants to Allow Banks to Shift More Capital Across Borders
The European Central Bank proposed changes to the bloc’s banking framework to allow lenders to move funds between their businesses in the region more easily.
The free flow of capital and liquidity within banks in the region would strengthen lenders by allowing for more efficient allocation of resources, the ECB said on Tuesday in Frankfurt. It also renewed a call for Europe-wide deposit insurance, a project that has struggled to gain political traction.
