Digital Realty Plans €2 Billion Data Center Investments in Italy

Data-center operator Digital Realty Trust Inc. plans to invest €2 billion ($2.3 billion) in Italy over the next five years as part of a Mediterranean-focused build-out in Europe.

The Austin-based company expects to hire hundreds of staff locally as it constructs facilities in Rome and Milan, said Alessandro Talotta, the company’s executive managing director in Italy.
