Europe’s biggest airlines are pushing the European Union to introduce temporary measures to help them through potential jet-fuel shortages and higher costs caused by the Iran war.

The requests include scrapping aviation taxes, monitoring of jet fuel availability by the EU and providing relief to airlines carrying extra fuel, according to a document from Airlines 4 Europe seen by Bloomberg News. The association, which represents the likes of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Air France-KLM and British Airways owner IAG SA, also asked the EU to allow imports and use of Jet A-type fuel used predominantly in the US into the bloc.
