Turkey Calls for Middle East Security Pact in Wake of Iran War

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday called for the formation of a Middle East security pact to build trust and stability in the region after the end of the Iran war.

“This pact is necessary so that countries can be assured of one another,” Fidan said in a televised interview with the state-run Anadolu news agency, without elaborating on which countries could be included. Defense cooperation between many regional states is already growing, he added.
