Houston stands to lose $110 million in public safety funds after its city council voted to end a policy requiring police to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

Governor Greg Abbott’s office said Monday it may pull the funds, which are key for security preparations for 2026 World Cup soccer matches at NRG Stadium, among other events.
