Gold climbed after a two-day decline, as renewed optimism for a negotiated end to the US-Iran war eased concerns about inflation. Silver rose to the highest in nearly a month.

Bullion rose as much as 2.2% to $4,846.33 an ounce, erasing losses from the previous two sessions. The US and Iran are looking to arrange a second round of peace talks in the coming days, with Tehran mulling a pause in shipments through the Strait of Hormuz to help ease the path toward an agreement on time and place.
