Benin Counts Votes With Ex-Deloitte Executive Poised to Win
Benin started tallying ballots on Sunday, with Finance Minister Romuald Wadagni widely expected to secure an easy victory in his first bid for the nation’s presidency.
The former Deloitte executive, a key architect of President Patrice Talon’s economic reforms, ran in a largely uncontested race and has the backing of the ruling coalition, which controls all seats in the National Assembly.
