Ireland’s defense forces helped police break up a blockade at the country’s only oil refinery on Saturday, as protests over the government’s handling of soaring fuel prices continue.

Members of the defense forces were called upon by the police in case they needed a military grade recovery truck to tow any vehicles involved in the blockade, national broadcaster RTE reported.
