UK Signs Drone Interceptor Deal With Cambridge Aerospace
Britain has signed a “multimillion-pound” contract with Cambridge Aerospace, a startup aiming to supply systems for intercepting drones and cheap missiles at much lower cost than existing defense systems.
Defense Secretary John Healey announced the deal at a conference in London on Friday, saying that the company would provide hundreds of its Skyhammer interceptors within weeks. The firm counts Healey’s immediate predecessor, Grant Shapps, as its chairman.
