Turkish Airlines carried out a sweeping management overhaul by replacing its chief executive officer and chairman, installing a new leadership team as the global aviation industry grapples with flight restrictions and high fuel costs.

The carrier said it will appoint Ahmet Olmustur as chief executive officer, replacing Bilal Eksi, who has retired. Murat Seker will take over as chairman of the board, succeeding Ahmet Bolat, who has stepped down from his duties.
