Slovenia’s Parliament Speaker Choice Signals Trouble for Premier
Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob’s chances of forming a government became more complicated Friday when lawmakers picked a new parliament speaker whose party is seen as more likely to back his rival’s right-wing bloc.
Lawmakers backed Zoran Stevanovic, a leader of a pro-Russian anti-establishment party, Resni.ca, with 48 votes in the 90-member legislature for the post of parliament speaker.
