Russia Bans Stanford University as Latest ‘Undesirable’ Organization

Russia declared Stanford University to be an “undesirable” organization, making it the latest in a series of foreign entities to be banned in the country.

The country’s Justice Ministry added the prestigious California institution to the register of organizations whose activities are considered undesirable, the Interfax news service reported on Friday. The move followed a decision by the Prosecutor-General’s Office, it said, without elaborating.
