Merz’s German Coalition Tussles Over Billions in Fuel Price Aid

The coalition is wrangling over steps such as boosting tax breaks for commuters and cutting levies on energy, according to people familiar with the talks. The measures could total at least as much as €5 billion ($5.9 billion) and are likely to run temporarily for about six months, one of the people said.
