Colombian Inflation Quickens, Raising Odds of Further Rate Rises
Colombian inflation accelerated more than expected to its fastest pace since 2024, boosting the likelihood that the central bank will continue raising interest rates this month.
The annual inflation rate accelerated to 5.56%, the statistics agency reported Thursday, more than the 5.46% median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of analysts. Prices rose 0.78% from the previous month.
