Brookfield, GIP Among Firms Eyeing $7 Billion Kuwait Energy Deal

Global private equity giants including BlackRock Inc.’s Global Infrastructure Partners and Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. are among firms considering offers for a stake in Kuwait Petroleum Corp.’s pipeline network, according to people familiar with the matter.

EIG Global Energy Partners LLC, KKR & Co., Macquarie Group Ltd. and Stonepeak are also among potential bidders that have been studying the assets, the people said, declining to be identified as the information is confidential. The deadline for initial proposals has been pushed back by several weeks to the end of April, giving suitors more time to assess the impact of Iranian attacks on regional energy infrastructure, some of the people said.
